Good afternoon to our extended WHPA family,
We at the Wyoming Highway Patrol Association wanted to express our gratitude for all you who have generously donated to help the Smith family during their time of need, I know they are very grateful for your thoughts and prayers and we also wanted to give everyone an update on Christian.
“Little Buddy” Christian is still in intensive care at Children’s Hospital in Denver and continues to be strong. He is sedated due to suffering from multiple seizures caused by a large stroke as a result of his brain injury. Doctors are beginning to get his seizures under control and have informed us that he will need many years of speech and physical therapy. Mom Aby, Dad Parker, and big Brother PJ continue to be with him and cheer him on, as we all do.
Everyone’s past and future donations are helping Christian and his family in many ways, and continue to greatly assist them during these trying times while Aby and Parker focus all of their time into helping Little Buddy recover from his injuries.
Thank you for your continuing support and well wishes.
Thank you for keeping us informed and please continue to do so. Christian is in my prayers. I went through a comparable trial with my then 4 yo daughter in 2009-10 that resulted in thousands of people praying, and I know it made a huge difference. May God bring comfort and blessing even through this tragedy; bring healing and guide the medical personnel in all they do, and inspire friends and neighbors to find ways to do all they can to support and help the Smith family.
I would encourage the parents to talk to the hospital. Most hospitals have free or reduced housing in situations like this.
Some hospitals do offer reduced or free housing because some bill the difference under misc. on Medicaid and other insurance companies that have misc. section on insurance. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Smith family and pray that your little buddy continues to thrive and fight to continue to get better and progress. I continue to pray that the person that done this get the fullest punishment thrown at them.
My thoughts and prayers go out to this family. I was once in their place so I know the struggle of being with a child in the children’s hospital with a brain injury.
Prayers Abundant for little man. Prayers of Healing
To the Smith family

Pullin for your little guy. Keeping you all in my prayers .
As a former law enforcement officer I’ve seen my share of tragic accidents like this involving small children. Thank God he was in a child seat and secured correctly. Unfortunately, side accidents don’t always protect people from injuries. Praying for his quick and full recovery. May Jesus give his parents the strength to handle the difficult road ahead. Praying for his brother to understand what is going on right now I know he needs so much understanding and love and is so scared and confused. I ask Jesus to bless him to give him peace.
Where can I donate money to the family?
I am definitely praying that everyone involved make’s a full recovery. Thank you Trooper Smith for the sacrifices that you make everyday taking care of others. Now it’s time for everyone to give back to you.
