Trooper Parker Smith has expressed his gratitude and wanted to update everyone on the progress of his Little Buddy:

I just wanted to extend my gratitude to everyone who has been praying for us in this extremely tough time. Words just can’t explain how grateful we have been for all of the support! With everyone’s donations we have been able to get ourselves fed.” “We are doing our best to make the money go as far as we can. It is surreal how many people love our boy and want to support him. From the bottom of my heart thank you!”

“So far Christian seems to be taking steps in the correct direction. He had his breathing tube removed and is breathing on his own.  It is really nice to have my boy awake and looking around. Monday we were able to check into the Ronald McDonald House near the hospital. People from all over the World have been impacted by little Christian and have become so invested in our situation. I was also able to hold my sweet boy in my arms again.”

“Unfortunately when he woke up he didn’t say “dad” or “mom” which is what we were really hoping. He has not been moving his left arm or left leg, Due to the large stroke he suffered to the right side of his brain. His jaw is still fractured in 3 different points. Most of the day he lays in his bed and looks around. He is having a very hard time focusing on things. We were told that he this will be a lifelong injury and it’ll take years for his recovery. Today they also brought up an artery on the right side of his heart that needs to be addressed. He may need to have surgery within a few weeks which we were told was a “high risk” operation. So please pray for him there. He has been having a lot of seizures and can’t leave the PICU until we get them under control.  Christian still really needs the prayers.”

“My boy today did say a few words and that was just the biggest high since the crash. He said “I love you” to his mom. He also moved the toes on the left side of his foot. God is good. We will get through this in time. Please Please Please continue to pray for us.”
